Description
Handmade, full-grain leather, lined glasses slipcase. The outer leather is a vegetable-tanned cowhide shoulder; a strong, firm and durable leather that will provide excellent protection for your glasses through its shock and impact-resistant properties.
An additional leather reinforcement piece inside the bottom of the case and the leather-bound edge around the opening provide increased structural rigidity to further protect your glasses.
The edges of the case have been: bevelled, sealed, waxed, and burnished to protect the leather from moisture, increasing durability and providing a superior finish.
The case is hand sewn using the saddle stitch and strong, waxed braided polyester thread. This is the traditional form of stitching used by those in the equestrian industry that produces a far stronger stitch than machine sewing, so you can rest assured that your purchase will stand the test of time.
The case is available in Black, Tan and Brown.
The Black case is lined in red sheepskin.
The Tan case is lined with caramel sheepskin.
The Brown case is lined with a thin, cream-coloured cowhide.
The case fits glasses with a minimum height of 43mm, a maximum height of 48mm and a maximum length of 145mm.
Dimensions: 170mm on its longest side by 75mm wide (externally).
The cases are made to order so there is an estimated 3-7 business day production time to allow me to produce your case. Thank you for your understanding.
About the Leather:
Vegetable tanning has been the traditional method of producing leather for thousands of years and still produces the finest leathers around. Natural materials such as leaves, tree bark, and water are used to tan the leather. This is a slow process that can take months or even longer for some leathers. As such, only a small percentage of the world’s leather is created this way and you are unlikely to find an item made from it on the high street.
Vegetable-tanned leathers are stronger, more durable, and have greater longevity than other leathers. They age gracefully, become more supple and develop a patina with age. Additionally, the production of this leather is more environmentally friendly than that of chromium-tanned leather because it is made using less harmful processes.
All Laws Leather products are entirely handmade by myself in the UK.
